TORLON: PAI (Polyamide-imide) is the highest performing, melt process able plastic. Torlon maintains strength and stiffness to 500 F (260 C). Unfilled (natural) 4203, glass-filled, carbon-filled, and Bearing grade 4301 are all available in various stock shape sizes for machining. Special engineering attention should be used when designing Torlon components in wet or moisture laden environments. Excellent wear, friction, and creep resistance is realized with Torlon components. Torlon is very dimensionally stable over a broad temperature range. Torlon is commonly used for bearings, seals, structural, electrical, and aerospace components. Please see the Extreme Performance Materials Page for technical specifications on all grades of readily available Torlon, or request your own personal copy of AIP's Material Specifications Brochure. AIP specializes
