Nylon (Polyamide), Engineering Plastics

Nylon's toughness, low coefficient of friction and good abrasion resistance make it an ideal replacement for a wide variety of materials from metal to rubber. Using nylon (polyamide):

Reduces lubrication requirements
Eliminates galling, corrosion and pilferage problems
Improves wear resistance and sound dampening characteristics

Nylon (Polyamide) is easily fabricated into precision parts using standard metalworking equipment. It is used in a wide range of applications including automtive, electrical, construction, household and machinery. Nylon's good property profile combined with a broad size range availability have made nylon very popular since it was first introduced in 1946. A variety of extruded and cast nylon grades are avilable to match specific application demands.
